Finding the correct car seat for your child
We have a large stock of child car seats available for short term hire. We have child seats suitable from newborn all the way to 8 years old. Below are some of the range of car seats on offer.
Convertible Car Seat (Birth – 4 Years)
For child from newborn to 12 months, we recommend the child seat in a rearward facing position. This gives the child a higher level of safety and protection as they may not be able to fully support their head in a up-right position.
Australian law requires that all child below the age of 6 months must seat in a rearward position. Therefore, you may request to have the seat fitted in a forward position if you wish. However, most manufacturers, parents and doctors recommended a child to seat backwards beyond 6 months.
Convertible Booster (6m-7yr)
These seats are suitable for child from 6 months to 7 years old. The child will be fully harnessed up tot the age of 4 year or 5 years. This seat can also be converted to a booster where the child use the adult seat belt.
Child Booster (4-7yr)
A child booster is suitable from 4 years to 7 years old. All Australian child car seats have height markers to indicate the suitability of the seat. If you child is tall and they meet the lower marker, they are allowed to use this seat even if they are 3 year old. However, where you child is small even when they are over 7 years old and they do not meet the higher marker, then they are allowed to use this seat.
Child Booster with no anchor point (4-7yrs)
These booster are suitable for a child from 4 to 7 years. These booster are light-weight so they do not require to be anchor down. A good option when there are no more anchor points left in the car.
Baby Capsules (Birth – 6 Months)
Baby capsules are design just for newborns to 6 months old. These capsules have the feature where it detaches from the car and the capsule can be moved out of the car and into the house or onto a pram. The base of the capsule remains in the car for quick attachment.
